Spring Break 2011

Spring Break Day 1 – Camping in the backyard.

Day 2 – Ice blocking

Day 3 – Cool Art exhibit

- And free pie night with grandma and grandpa!

Day 4 – St. Patty’s day so we had green eggs and ham for breakfast. And green crepes! Then grandpa read us Dr. Suess story.

Then we took an adventurous hike at Tonto Natural Bridge. Thank goodness there was another older kid family there or we never would have made it with all the kids.

My poor mom had no idea what she was getting into. Then again neither did we.

Thanks to this nice family.

Day 5 – After day 4 adventure we decided to take it easy and take in a movie. We went and saw Tangled, relaxed and ate popcorn. Such a fun week.

When your 4 you should celebrate at least 4 times right? Here she is at Aunt Lorra’s house. We celebrated all the January Birthdays.

Next a party at our house with family and friends. She asked for a Tinkerbell cake.

Her good friend Dylan brought her a scooter. He got one for Christmas and thought if she had one they could ride together.

I didn’t get pictures but she also celebrated at preschool with her preschool friends.

And finally her actual birthday. By this time we were sick of cake so she got a big chocolate chip cookie.

Disney Day 3

Then on to Autotopia. Where the kids really did drive us crazy A new tradition that we’ve started since we’ve become parents– eating at the Blue Bayou, the restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean. We spilt up today sending the big kids with Lorra, John, and Jeff while the rest of us took the littles through an adventure in Fantasy Land and Toon Town. With dad’s wheel chair they were able to go through the lines very quickly.Notice who’s missing. Karolyn hates the tea cups! Spin faster. Alice in Wonderland, Ashleigh kept asking, “Is this Real?”

Disney Day 2

First order of business – ride Midway Mania at California Adventures. Its a Toy Story shooting game ride in 3D. Here we are in line. The line is usually over 45 minutes but we only waited 20.Kenyon was very excited.

The game was fun. Jeff got the highest score 147,000+.

Next on the agenda California Scream. Not a great close- up shot of everyone but they’re there. Logan loved this ride. Makenzie was about an inch short = lots of tears.

The kids that were too short rode on the carousel. Ok not as fun but most of them didn’t mind.

Kenyon worked up the nerve to stand next to Woody, one of his favorite characters.

We also saw Jesse.

Disney Day 1

Our first day at Disneyland was a little soggy, thus all the raincoats. Soggy weather = short lines. We rode Space Mountain first thing and the wait time was less than 10 minutes. Then we headed over to the rockets. Here are Ashleigh, Kenyon, Makenzie, Hannah, and Jacob waiting in line.

The Wolfingtons and aunt Michelle went back to Disneyland at the end of the day to watch Fantasmic. The kids really enjoyed the show. Michelle and Karolyn froze as they sat saving a place to sit for over an hour. But it was worth it.

Christmas in California

It’s after Christmas and we’ve made our way over to California for our Disney Trip. We did our Tracy cousin gift exchange in the hotel when we got there.

Santa Came

Jeff and I think too much alike. We both got each other a body pillow.Kenyon loved everything he opened. We had a hard time getting him to open the next present.

The girls got babies and barbies.

Ashleigh got an ouch on her knee.

Kenyon loved the nerf guns especially.

Logan got a huge herf gun. But I think his favorite was the silly string he got from his good friend, Brody.

Jeff was very happy this year. Of course he did most of the shopping for his own presents.

Wolfington Christmas 2010

We had the Wolfington side of the family over for dinner and Christmas eve fun. Dylan was able to make it for a little while but we didn’t have our cameras out. We missed the Noah and the Bryants. Hopefully next year we can all get together. Aunt Jill organized a gingerbread making activity which everyone, including Grandma Tracy got into.

Jeff surprised me with an over night get away to the Buttes for our Anniversary. A full 24 hours without kids. It was very relaxing. We lounged around, went to dinner, went to the mall to do a little shopping, slept in, and went to a movie!

We were able to travel to Gila Valley to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Lindsay. We had a weekend filled with adventure and fun.

First Grandma and Grandpa have the best sandbox ever!

They also have swings. This is were Jeff spent most of his time.

We were able to go throw rocks in the canal. Kenyon made me super nervous, the boy has no fear.

Did I mention the swings?Uncle Steven brought entertainment for the older boys. Logan and Noah were gone most of the day riding around.We participated in a little turkey trot.We also did a lot of swinging in Grandpa Lindsay’s tire swings.

Aunt Jill brought gunny sacks for races.

Grandpa Lindsay provided us with a hay ride. We were able to sing Christmas songs as we rode along.

Grandma read us bed time stories.

Sleeping arrangements were fun with 13 adults and 11 or so kids under one roof

Gilbert Days

My partners in crime and I have decided to run a few races this season. So we started out easy with a 5k at Gilbert days.

The kids and I ran the 1 mile fun run last year. They wanted to run again this year so we enlisted dad’s help. Here they are crossing the finish line.

Halloween Happenings 2010

We started with a trip to Schnepf Farms. I took the kids out of school so they could go with me on my preschool field trip.

Logan’s pig won the pig race. He was “crowned” with a pig nose. Fitting isn’t it?

We finished the day off with a frozen dessert.

On to the costume parade at school. Makenzie was Cinderella this year. Logan was a Caveman.

On Friday we went to the Halloween Carnival at church. They started with a costume parade where they were able to trick or treat.

Then onto the games.

Funny note. I had 2 or three costumes (a dino, Buzz Lightyear, a fish, and a fireman) for Kenyon this year none of which he was interested in wearing. I came home from the kids’ school to find him perfectly happy in Ashleigh’s Cinderella dress-up. We finally convinced him that being a fireman was OK.

Mexico 2010

New Mexico Balloon Festival

The fun started with a trip to Grandma’s and Grandpa’s House. We went to a corn maze. I don’t know who was having more fun, Logan or Uncle Brad. The kids didn’t really care about finding their way out of the maze, they just wanted to run around.

Here is the group minus Uncle Steven’s Family, who didn’t get in until 2 am the next morning.The day started early 4:15 local time, which meant 3:15 for us out of towners.

I Didn’t realize that we would be right in the middle of all the balloons going up.

Uncle Steven provided entertainment for the kids.

Look at how big that balloon is. We had a great time and it is definitely a trip we will repeat.

Happy Birthday Kenyon

Not only was it the first day of school but Kenyon turned 2 today. We love this kid.

First we made him a cake, after which he was able to lick the beaters. See the messy hands. Not unusual for this kid as he often holds his fork in one hand and eats with the other.

He loved opening presents.

He got clothes from grandma and grandpa Tracy. A Zhu Zhu pet from his brother and sisters, and Buzz Lightyear pajamas from mom and dad. But his favorite was his very own Black & Decker Tool set. Complete with a drill, safety glasses and a jig saw.

For the past week he has been playing with the girl’s play food. He’s been putting candles on the cake, singing Happy Birthday, and blowing out the candles. I guess his practice has paid off.

First Day of School

The kids had a great first day of school. Makenzie was a little apprehensive the night before and teary eyed but was fine today. Logan was calm and collected. Both kids walked themselves to their classes, made me wait in the hall. Yah for school, I no longer need to be the activities director finding something fun and exciting to do everyday.

He weighs 33lbs and is 34” tall. He sleeps in a big boy be (sort of). Somehow he always finds his way to our bed. He is all boy - Except when he plays dress up with his sisters then he enjoys being “Cinderella”. He Loves Buzz Lightyear, playing cars, and playing with toy soldiers.

What I did on my summer Vacation

Took a couple of trips to Utah. One for a graduation, the other for a baptism. The kids had a blast hanging with the cousins.

Took a weekend and went to the mountains.

Took the kids to swim lessons.

Ashleigh cried until I let her wear my sunglasses.

Remodeled my kitchen island. I’ve got to get rid of the white-washed pink cabinets.

Added and updated some things in the preschool room.

For the 4th we had grandma and grandpa over for dinner, which was really yummy- pulled pork sandwiches, fresh fruit, raspberry salad, corn, and jello cake for dessert. Then we went and found a place to watch fireworks. We were actually right outside a firestation.

The kids attempted to entertain themselves while waiting. Here is Ashleigh dancing.

Quick but Fun Family Reunion

We went to the Kenyon Udall Family reunion in Christopher Creek this last weekend. Logan was the lucky one who got to go up for 3 nights, thanks to Uncle Steven and Aunt Jill, to hang out with his cousin Noah. Here is a picture of them exploring.

We were able to go to Tonto Creek and look around. We tried going to the fish hatchery but it was closed.

Utah Trip

We went to Utah for my niece, Kayla’s, graduation. Sadly we had to leave Jeff at home. We were able to visit Bingham Copper Mine. The kids really enjoyed it. Our grandpa Lindsay actually has a tire swing made of a tire this size.

We were able to visit with family. Here are the kids with their second cousin, Gage, eating popsicles on the front porch of my uncle’s house.

The kids had a great time riding bikes and wearing helmets. In fact the other three were never around to get their pictures taken.And yes Kenyon still loves dogs and I would get him one if I was promised a dog as good and mellow as Skipper.

Makenzie made it through her first year at Finley Farms. I was able to come in several times throughout the year and do special projects with her class. It was so much fun watching her grow this year. She had a great teacher, Mrs. Beck, who she will miss as she moves on to 1st grade.

Most Saturdays you can find us on the sidelines cheering Logan on. We signed Logan up for flag football. this year. He’s on an NFL League so he plays for the Chicago Bears.We had to remind him that he needs to be more aggressive, less passive. He asked Jeff what aggressive meant. Jeff replied, be more like your little brother Kenyon.

You can see him on the right running a play. He’s gotten better over the last couple of week averaging three or four tackles in a game.

Guess what we’ve been busy doing?

Yes. It’s a spring garden. I’ve always wanted one and with the help of my dad my wish has finally come true. He single handedly built 4 beautiful garden boxes, moved rock & sprinklers, and put a fun bench around our tree. Thanks dad. He lets me pay him in homemade bread. Kenyon of course helped. He loves helping grandpa. We planted tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, green onions, and peas. Yum I can’t wait.

We had a great Christmas this year. Grandparents Tracy stayed the night and opened presents with us. We had a great breakfast, French toast casserole and oh yea... the presents.

Jeff's birthday was fun cause he actually let me make a little bit of a fuss over him. We went to a friend's daughters birthday and she had a topsy turvy cake. Jeff said I want one of those. So one of those is what he got. It was a lot of fun to make.

We celebrated by having family and friends over. Jeff got the Star Trek movie and an electric razor from us, a bag of chocolate chips from Jill and family, a book on cd from mom, and $$ to buy a new tool from several family members. Happy Birthday Babe.

The two oldest and I had the opportunity to run in the Gilbert Days Fun Run. Logan is in the running club at school and really enjoys it. I think next year we will have to get Jeff to run too. Here we are before the race.

Weekend Fun

Jeff found out about a small balloon festival they were having at Anthem in Florence. We decided to take the kids for free food, balloons, and fun. We first rode the shuttle, a double decker bus, to the event and decided to enjoy a free BBQ meal for lunch first before doing any of the other things. Soon after we finished eating It started pouring so our fun ended before it really started. Did you know that they can get a free Krispy Kreme doughnut for every A. I happened to have the kid's report cards in the car so we headed there.
As you can see the older kids were very tired.

After we enjoyed our sweet treats we took the kids to Toys R Us to have a look around. We ended up having a good day minus a few balloons.

Week in Review

Monday - Started potty training Ashleigh. Not much success.
Tuesday - Continued training. Wondering why I thought I could do this. Talked with a friend who gave me some advise. Seems to be working.
Wednesday - Only 1 accident all day! And she is coming to me and telling me when she has to go.
Thursday - Again only 1 accident. Went #2 on the potty!
Friday - Made it through a whole day accident free. What a girl. Cranky in the evening goes to bed without dinner.
Saturday - Wakes up at 2:30 the next morning to go potty, decides she's hungry, eats, too awake to sleep, stays up till 5:00. Then Kenyon wakes at 5:30. Not much sleep for mom. Souper Saturday for mom. Dad home with kids and Ashleigh did great. 6pm she ended up with fever of 102.9.
Sunday - Still feverish. All day can't get it to come down 10:30pm it hits 104.6. I call the doctor who says as long as it stays below 105 we are ok but get her into the doctor in the morning. Jeff rides the couch, Ashleigh sleeps in bed with mom. Neither of us get much sleep.
Monday - 8:15 go to the doctor. He takes a swab to run test = swine flu. Get prescription, cancel preschool for the week, keep her away from others for 5-7 days. Pray and hope that it ends with her and doesn't go through the rest of the kids.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This year we had a Rubik's cube, a princess, 2 mermaids, and a fish.

We went to Scnepfs farms.

Kenyon was too little to ride most of the rides so he hung out.

Logan and Kenzie loved the roller coaster.

The kids had a costume parade at the school.

On Halloween night we went to some friends house for dinner and trick or treating. Ashleigh was in a mood and wouldn’t let me get a picture of her.

MEXICO 2009

We had the opportunity to go down to Mexico again with some of our friends in the ward. It was a much needed vacation and we had a blast.

Friday Night Fun

We got a new tent for our Mexico trip. The kids were excited to try it out. So Friday we set it up in the backyard and had a camp out! The tent is great, big enough for 2 queen mattresses, pack and play, and still has room for our "stuff". It's tall enough for Jeff to stand upright, which is great. Can't find many tents that allow for his height.

It’s been busy since the kids started school. Here is what we’ve been doing.

Kenyon has learned how to walk.

We had a family birthday party for Kenyon.

We get to have Kaydence over on Tuesdays.

Logan has started playing guitar hero with Ashleigh singing lead vocals.

Makenzie learned to tie her shoes!!

Kenyon refuses to be fed. He wants to eat all by himself. He holds a fork in one hand and food in the other.

And he likes to “try” to climb out of the tub. He usually succeeds in falling.

And sadly we sent our nephew Patrick home yesterday. He stayed with us this summer to help Jeff out with the business. Thanks for all the hard work Patrick. We’ll miss you.

1st Day of School Jitters!

Logan was ready to start school, waking at 6, getting showered and dressed, eating breakfast, and brushing his teeth all before 7am. Makenzie woke up very excited, but that soon changed into panic. She had a 15 minute meltdown. Walking from the car to school. I think Ashleigh would go too if they let her.

Makenzie put on a brave face and got used to the idea of going to school.

We soon found the playground and she made herself at home in the sandbox.

Kenyon Update

New tricks this month.

He climbs on everything.

He got a new tooth on the top. We call it his snagle tooth.

Did I mention he climbs on everything?? Even the wipes box if it happens to be lying on the ground.

He loves sunglasses. He tries to pull them off mom and dad and put them on his own face.

No he's not helping with the dishes, he's climbing.

Fabulous 4th Fun

Yeah to the Faveraus for planning a 4th BBQ and Swim Party! We love spending time with Jeff's side of the family. We ate great hamburgers - grilled by Michael, pasta salad - made by Kim, and Jill's yummy carrot cake!
For the fireworks, we went to a green belt near a church.
Ashleigh made friends out of strangers and bummed a piece of pizza off them.
And sat on Uncle Don's lap to "oo" and "ah".
Kenyon was entertained by dad,
and Aunt Alayne - gotta love her, always willing to hold the babies!

and Logan seemed a little bored.

June Update

We had a great June. Not having a pool we utilize the public pools, family & friends' pools - Thanks grandma, Aunt Jill, Barb, LaDawn, and Sonnet. We are grateful for their willingness to invite us over to invade their house. Here are some highlights.

Logan and Makenzie are becoming quite the swimmers. Makenzie is comfortable enough to swim around the shallow end of the pool and Logan jumps in at the deep end. Ashleigh, who last year would jump in without even making sure you would catch her, is more timid this year and would rather eat Cheetos by the pool side.

June was a great month for the kids to play outside. It was unusually cool and we took advantage of that.

For Father's Day we had a special visit from Ompa Greg and Oma Cathy. They brought their dog Shotzi and the kids really enjoyed her. Ashleigh and Kenzie really love to cuddle with Grandma Cathy.

Jeff got a microphone for Guitar hero for Father's Day and quickly got back to rocking it out. Even though he wasn't playing lullabies he still lulled Kenyon to sleep.

As you can see it was a very busy and tiring month - our baby boy couldn't even eat his lunch without falling asleep.

Why We Love Our Kids

#1 reason for getting a front load washer and dryer. Eventhough they complain they do a great job and I appreciate it.

They make us smile . . .

Makenzie always has the cutest smile and Ashleigh is a goof ball. Whenever dad brings home soda the kids are on him like a bee on honey.

They entertain themselves . . .

This could be anyone of my kids in their room playing with their toys. Sometimes it gets so quiet that I have to check on them and make sure everything is ok.

The take care of each other . . .

I caught Logan covering up Kenyon after he had fallen asleep on the floor. The next day Makenzie got her blanket off her bed and covered Ashleigh. It makes me want to squeeze them hard.

They love each other and us very much. . .

Several trips to the doctor – ear infections, pneumonia, and allergic reactions to antibiotics. The doctor offered to take him home to nurse him back to health. He’s finally well!!

We had a visit from Grandpa Greg & Grandma Cathy Ashleigh warmed up to Grandma really quick. It was the first time they met. She was born while Gma&Gpa were in Germany.

The Vegas Wolfingtons came down and we got to visit with them. They invited us to go hiking at Usery Pass with Liz’s family. They beat us up the mountain and we decided to turn around before it got too dark. Below is Ashleigh. She’s little miss independent. She wouldn’t let us help at all. They were also able to come over and enjoy Sunday dinner with us.

We spent our FHE last night at Norwood Furniture in Downtown Gilbert. Logan’s artwork was selected from his grade level to represent the school at the art show. We are very proud of him. He has an amazing talent, which he gets from his dad. If you are interested his artwork will be displayed through April 28th. After the art show we made our way to DQ to celebrate this achievement. Way to go Logan!

We've had a lot going on these last couple of weeks and I'm just getting around to posting Kenyon's 6 month old update.

He's recieved 2 haircuts. I'm still trying to keep his dark brown tips but I'm sure the next cut will totally do away with those. He'll be blond for sure.

We've resorted to bathing him in the kitchen sink - he gets a bath nearly every night before bed. He loves his baths and is not able to sit up on his own for very long. Jeff and I are done with bending over to reach him in the big tub and he has far outgrown the infant tub - so he baths in the sink.

He can now hold a bottle like a pro. Which makes it easy on mom when she needs to tend to something else.

Kenyon gets up on his hands and knees and rocks. Usually just falling forward but crawling will come soon enough. He is able to get to whatever he wants by turning in circles and falling forward.

We also had a bit of a set back with sleeping through the night. He caught a nasty cold and took a long time to get well. But we went through 1 night of him crying it out after he was all better and he's back to sleeping 9 -10 hours. Thank goodness, both mom and dad were about to go crazy from lack of sleep.

The Last Time I Talked to My Grandpa

My mom bought me a book on CD that I listened to at work. The author told a story when he was a young father, busy with trying to better his life and his families' financial future. While pursing this at home one night in the den, his young daughter asked him to come play "Candyland" with the family. He dismissed her quickly and got back to work. Soon he heard his wife and kids playing happily and decided to take a break to watch them. As he stood, unnoticed in the door way, watching his family enjoy time together, a spiritual thought came to him, "behold, the plan of salvation". The big picture was opened up to him in his minds eye and suddenly the important things in the den got trumped by the silly game in the living room.
The last time I talked to my Grandfather, I went over to say goodbye after a visit to the good ol' Gila Valley. The house was empty except for him. He talked to me for a while, remembering some good memories and suddenly stopped in front of the picture wall, next to the bathroom in the hall. The wall had a picture of each of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A picture in the middle of he and grandma seemed so perfectly placed. As we looked at his posterity, the words of the author rang in my head "behold the plan of salvation." This was my grandpa's plan of salvation. The reason for our journey on this earth. I suddenly felt so proud to be a part of that lineage. I named my last son after this great man so that I would never forget the example he set for me. So I would never forget what my grandfather did for me in my life, and so I would never forget the last time I talked to my grandfather.
Until we meet again....

I WALKED A HALF MARATHON AND HERE'S THE PROOF!

Last weekend I left all 4 kids with Jeff, who had a little help from my mom and took off for 2 full days of fun. A half marathon was something I thought I would never do. I mean EVER! But I did it. A friend of mine from church, Ladawn Halbison and I started walking about 3 months ago. A friend of hers from work work suggested a half marathon. We trained religiously. We were going to do the marathon in Sedona. We got to where we could walk 15 minute miles. We knew we would not be able to do that in Sedona because of the altitude and the geographics of the trail. Check it out! Look at those hills. That is the reason we were going to be totally content with 16-17 minute miles. Boy were we happy with our results.

Official length of walk was 3 hours 24 minutes 13 seconds. That meant we walked 15 minute and 37 second miles. Yeah!

We are showing off the timing chip we wear to get our official time. When you cross the pad at the start it activates your timing chip and then when you cross the pad at the finish it marks your times. Pretty great. Then you can access your time online.

Starting out. It was supposed to rain but we were pretty lucky and had no rain at all. The weather was pretty perfect.

At the finish line. Not the prettiest picture but hey I just walked 13.1 miles. We medaled and so did everyone else. It was a great experience. I was so sore the next couple of days that I could hardly move. I am not sure how soon we will walk another marathon. I know we would like to do Sedona again next year and take a few more people with us. Anyone in?

Haircuts & Closets & Ear Aches OH MY!

Kenyon got his first haircut last week. I hated to do it but his hair was starting to hang in his eyes. I made sure we didn't cut too much off so he still has blond roots. My camera is broken so when I figure out how to get pictures from my phone to my computer I'll post them.

Before Jeff quit Classy at the end of the year we made sure we got the master and girls' closet done. We LOVE them! It is amazing how much more room there is in them.

And finally both of the babies have ear infections. They are getting better but no fun at night when they take turns waking up crying.

Not much else is going on. I hope to get my camera fixed soon!

Makenzie: "Mom who made the Earth"
Mom: "Jesus did"
Makenzie: "Did he also make the monkeys" "Did he screw them?" (meaning did he put them together with screws)
Mom: "No he didn't put them together with tools, Jesus just made them. He is able to do everything."
Makenzie: "Who made us?"
Mom: "Jesus made our bodies, Heavenly Father made our Spirits. When we are born our Spirits go into our body and when we die our Spirits leave our body and go to Heaven to be with Heavenly Father and Jesus."
Makenzie: "Oh, so my grandma that died (Jeff's Grandma Udall) is with Jesus."
Mom: "Yes she's with Jesus."
Makenzie: "So when I die I will be with Grandma and Jesus."
Mom: "Yes, and all of our other family that has died and gone to Heaven."
Makenzie: "I can't wait to go live in Heaven. Can I watch tv now?"

Kenyon Update Month 4

Weighing in at 15lbs 15oz and measuring 25 inches long month 4 has brought some fun milestones. He is sleeping at least 9 hours at night and takes 3 good naps during the day. He goes about 4 hours between eating, which gives mom a little more time to do things around the house. He coos and giggles a lot, especially when his brother and sisters are entertaining him.
He is rolling over from tummy to back and from back to tummy. In fact you lay him down on his back and he immediately rolls to his tummy.

He doesn't like to lay down all that much and enjoys the new Bumbo chair we got him. He has outgrown the swing and now loves his exersaucer. He still has tons of hair and we're not willing to cut it yet (it's just too cute). A bib has also become a regular accessory to his everyday wardrobe. If you've been around him lately you know exactly how much he drools. He goes through 4 bibs and at least 2 outfits a day!

Here Comes Santa Clause

We went to see Santa last night and do a little Christmas shopping. Notice no tears. We had to talk Ashleigh into it but she did ok on Logan's lap. Do you like her new cheesy smile for the camera?

This year the kids drew each others names and they were able to go shopping too. We took them one at a time to the toy store while the others waited in the play place.

Holiday Home

We were able to get out the tree and decorate it. The kids had so much fun looking at all the ornaments, especially the ones they had made in school in previous years. Everyone got a boost from dad to decorate the top part of the tree.

It was Ashliegh's year to put the star on the tree.

The tree looked pretty good and I didn't even do any rearranging of the ornaments after the kids went to bed.

Logan had to sleep in the Santa hat. He is so excited and keeps asking when there will be presents under the tree for him.(We only have one under the tree from Grandpa Greg.)

November's Happenings

Jeff celebrated his birthday. He is now thirty something.

We were able to visit with Grandpa Wolfington. The kids enjoyed him a lot.

We went to Thatcher to enjoy THATCHGIVING (new term coined by my bro-n-law Steven). We enjoyed being with the extended family. The kids were very entertained with riding the zip line, playing with baby chickens, jumping off the fireplaces with second cousins, and riding horses.

On Saturday night we went to a park to watch Kung Fu Panda. The older kids had a good time, Kenyon would have rather been at home, and spent the whole movie aquainting herself with the people sitting around us. You know drinking out of their cups, eating their snacks, she even tickled some unsuspecting dad's toes.

We had the opportunity to go see Cinderella at the Hale Center Theater in Gilbert with the girls. We had a blast. The girls really enjoyed it and so did their moms and grandmas.

3 Months

Can you believe it? 3 months already. We have had a pretty great month. He had his first Halloween and dressed up as Peter Pan.

We have had a couple of rough weeks were he would fuss most of the day but sleep a good 8 hours at night. We visited the doctor who changed his acid reflux medication and it seemed to work.

He is following in Logan's footsteps and has found his thumb to suck on.

Logan changed his first diaper the other day and now wants to do it regularly (only when they are wet ones).

He has had visits from two of his great grandparents and Grandma Lindsay and sees Grandma Tracy every Tuesday and Thursday so mom can teach preschool.

I have always wanted to try sponge curlers in Makenzie's hair. You know the ones that you put in when your hair is wet and then sleep on them overnight. She wanted curly hair so I rolled her hair in the sponge curlers. After about 5 minutes she was crying. She didn't want them in her hair. But I convinced her she would love the results.

Happy Halloween

We went over to a friends from the ward this year. They set up chairs in their driveway and have a pot luck dinner. The kids had a blast this year and got tons of candy. I couldn't believe Ashleigh. She would say trick or treat and thank you at every house. Her bag got so heavy it was hard to carry. I tried to help her carry it but she wouldn't let me. The other kids had fun too. Jeff took the two babies home and we stayed a little longer. Some of the teenagers took Makenzie trick or treating a second time and they were gone so long we had to send out a search party to find them.

Here is our 2 month old update a couple of weeks late. He is getting so big. Over this last month he has developed acid reflux, which he takes medication for. He has also started sleeping at least 5 hours at night, which makes mom happy! Kenyon has started cooing and smiling and he even giggles once in a while. I got him the other day with his fingers in his mouth. Kenyon also went on his first camping trip when we went to Mexico. And yes he does have troll doll hair which won't lay flat. I'm sure we'll probably have to get a hair cut in the next couple of months.

I went to give Kenyon a bath last night and Kenzie just was so excited to help. She practiced earlier in the day by giving her Dora a bath with the spray bottle.
We had friends over yesterday and I couldn't find Kenzie and Macie. When I looked this is were they were. I guess they were both trying to hide from their younger sisters. Gives a new meaning to water color art.

Ashleigh went on the potty today. I noticed that she was trying to poop so I asked if she wanted to try to go on the potty and she said yes. We sat there for a while and she peed! Ya - we sang a song to celebrate. Then Makenzie got her a book and she sat for a while longer and pooped! I'm not sure if I'm up to potty training her yet but if she is willing to go that's sounds great to me. On a side note, yes she does have a fat lip and a goose egg between her eyebrows. Let's just say mom's know best when it comes to sitting down on rocking chairs!

Makenzie had a dentist appointment this morning and much to my surprise did excellent. They were able to polish, scrape, treat with flouride, floss, and take x-rays. Prior attempts at the dentist have not been so productive. To celebrate I took her for a smoothie afterward. GO KENZIE!!

Brace Yourself

Much to my surprise and probably a lot of other people (including Jeff) I decided to get braces. I had a dentist appointment two weeks ago and they said that I'm starting to crack my teeth because of my bite. I've always wanted straight teeth so I thought crack your teeth and end up needing a mouth full of crowns or braces. I opted for braces. I feel for all of you who had these as a teenager or those of you who are teenagers now and going through the braces process. And flossing is nearly impossible. But I'm trying to follow all the instructions so that my teeth move quickly. Wish me luck!
